LEADERSHIP

Courtney Thraen, Executive Director "I am passionate about civic engagement and action-oriented planning.  Leading this non-profit organization is a phenomenal challenge that renders great rewards.  Luckily, I've spent my entire life preparing for this position.  As an officer in the U.S. Navy, I lead work groups in administration, navigation, medical, and auxiliary engineering divisions in an operational context.  I was fortunate to spend three years instructing Naval Science courses at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.   After nearly four years of processing VA disability claims for homeless Veterans and severely injured Veterans,  I knew it was time to make a real community impact right in my own town.   I really love learning, and I've completed my Master of Public Policy Degree from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth and Master of City Planning degree from Boston University.   Please join me in spurring growth in our urban core!"

Board of Directors

Framingham Downtown Renaissance is governed by a Board of Directors that convenes once a month to develop and revisit strategies guiding downtown revitalization efforts. With an Executive Committee and members representing a range of skills and expertise, FDRs Board is uniquely qualified to provide well-rounded leadership for the diverse needs and requirements of this multi-cultural setting. On alternate months, the Board of Directors meets publicly, inviting residents and stakeholders to weigh in on FDRs local economic development plans and work in the community.
